As part of this strategic direction, we have recently implemented significant changes to our Articles of Association. These changes now allow shareholders who retire and cease their professional activity to receive payment from the sale of their shares within a four-month period—enhancing the immediacy and transparency of the process.
A notable example of this new approach is Ms. Viera Flouri, who joined our cooperative in 2014, acquiring 4,000 shares with a total value of €10,000 (at €2.50 per share). In 2025, upon her retirement, she sold her shares for a total of €34,560 (at €8.64 per share).
This represents an impressive Return on Investment (ROI) of 345%, showcasing the substantial and long-term value of participating in our cooperative.
Beyond the financial benefit, Ms. Flouri fully leveraged MEFAL’s support and services throughout the years. This enabled her to provide high-quality healthcare services to her pharmacy’s patients and to strengthen the bond of trust with her local community.
